1832<\/strong> \u2013 The Queen Mother Maria Isabella of Spain, widow of Francis I and mother of Ferdinand II of Bourbon, stayed at Astapiana to appreciate its beauty and tranquility.<\/p>

1859<\/strong> \u2013 Prince Francis of Paola, Count of Trapani, with his consort Archduchess Maria Isabella of Tuscany, and Princess Carolina with her husband Don Carlos, Count of Montemolin, chose Astapiana for a short stay.<\/p>

Duke Luigi Giusso loved to surround himself with men of art and letters. During that period, one of the frequent guests of Astapiana, a friend of Luigi Giusso, was August Kestner,<\/strong> ambassador of the Kingdom of Hanover in Rome, a collector and portraitist of great talent.
